SCOTTISH GLENGARRY PIPER HAT, BERET, CAP
This is 100% wool except for the tassle and bow.
It has a triple dice band. Please see pictures.
This is an antique hat, not new.
There aren’t any markings on the cap in regards to size.
There looks to be two small moth holes as shown in picture.
Used in the Scottish Military, the Glengarry is worn by male members of staff at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen's Official residence in Scotland. The Glengarry is also commonly worn by civilians, notably civilian pipe bands, but can be considered an appropriate hat worn by
any man with Highland casual dress or day wear
.
But during its era in the United States, the hat was also worn by women.
