    Underwood and Underwood was an early producer and distributor of stereoscopic photographic images and at one time was the largest publisher of stereoviews in the world, producing 10 million views a year. The company was formed in 1881 in Ottawa, Kansas, by two brothers Elmer 1859-1947) and Bert Elias Underwood (1862-1943). They developed a system of selling through door to door canvassing by college students.
